We are delighted to be able to offer ample seating at a large number of performances. Click WHAT’S ON for an overview of all events, updated daily. Should any performances have to be cancelled at short notice due to the coronavirus situation, we will notify all ticket holders without fail. Your normal range of options to cancel or reschedule or receive a refund is naturally unaffected.
We hope to answer all your queries regarding your theatre visit in the following FAQ:
WHAT SAFETY AND HYGIENE RULES ARE IN FORCE AT THE VENUE?
Pursuant to the latest directives issued by the Bavarian government, performances can currently be attended by persons who can show evidence of full vaccination against or recovery from Covid (in Germany this is known as the ‘2G’ rule) and by minors. Additional proof of a negative test result is not required.
School children need only present their school ID card. People aged 18+ must comply with the 2G rule (fully vaccinated or recovered).
An FFP2 mask must be worn in all venues, including during the performance, and may be removed only for the purpose of drinking and eating. Children aged 5 and under need not wear a mask and for children aged 6 – 16 a surgical mask is sufficient.
All areas of the building are ventilated regularly and high-traffic contact surfaces in communal areas are cleaned and disinfected at regular intervals. Anti-viral spray dispensers are in prominent locations on site. The foyers are spacious enough to prevent crowding.
Our air-conditioning plant continues to circulate 100% exterior air at the highest possible rate of air exchange. As a result you may notice a draught in the auditorium and we recommend that you take this into account when choosing what to wear. Ambient temperatures fluctuate between 22° and 25°C.
Further information is available here.
Up-to-date directives can also be viewed in the Fifteenth Bavarian Infection Protection Measures Ordinance (15. BayIfSMV). Please note that we do not recognise certification attesting to an exemption from mask-wearing, as we cannot verify authenticity on site. House rules apply.
HOW CAN I BUY TICKETS AND WHAT SHOULD I BE AWARE OF?
Advance ticketing normally begins on the first working day of the month (at 9:00 am): two months in advance for opera, ballet and concerts; one month in advance for plays. Any exceptions to this pattern will be posted on the website.
Tickets can be ordered from our Online Shop, by phoning our hotline (+49-(0)180-1-344-276) or by emailing info(at)staatstheater-nuernberg.de. You can also buy in person at our box offices in the Opernhaus and Schauspielhaus. Click here for opening times.
Doors open 60 minutes prior to start of performance. Please come early to avoid long queues at the ticket and Covid checks.
CAN WE BUY REFRESHMENTS?
Our gastronomy service is operating as usual. Aside from the beverages available at our bars before the performances and during intervals, our Gastroticket is your route to pre-ordered snacks. The items you have ordered will be waiting for you at your allotted table at the start of the interval. Face masks should be worn when you have finished eating and drinking.
