Meistersingerhalle

Danae Dörken

Patrik Ringborg brings seldom-heard works from his Swedish homeland: Wilhelm Stenhammar’s Symphony No. 1, in which the influence of Bruckner and Wagner is plainly audible, has been experiencing a renaissance for several years - although Stenhammar himself spent years trying to prevent the work from becoming widely known, using the notes as a cushion when composing.

Edvard Grieg, whose Piano Concerto is one of the most popular solo concertos of the Romantic period, hailed from Norway. The work is performed by Danae Dörken, an artist of breathtaking technique, rare stage presence and great musical depth.
