Mit einem markanten Crescendo eröffnen Generalmusikdirektorin Joana Mallwitz und die Staatsphilharmonie die neue Spielzeit: Ravels manisch-geniale Liebeserklärung an die Kleine Trommel, der „Boléro“, lässt alle Farben des Orchesters leuchten. Der französische Star-Cellist Gautier Capuçon spielt den äußerst anspruchsvollen Solopart in Tschaikowskys Rokoko-Variationen, hinter deren verspieltem Titel sich eines der berühmtesten Cellokonzerte verbirgt. Brahms will in seiner 1. Symphonie nach neuen Wegen suchen, an Beethoven anknüpfen und dabei dennoch etwas unverkennbar Eigenes schaffen. Ein vielfältiger, spannender Saison-Auftakt ist garantiert!
