Passing oneself off as a millionaire on a first date? A notorious thief playing the undercover agent? Vowing love to a bride with a rich dowry? It has all happened before—and it happens constantly in Alles Schwindel. In this burlesque, Mischa Spoliansky and Marcellus Schiffer take society’s urge to appear more beautiful, wealthy, and interesting to the extreme, gleefully jumbling together identities, realities, and performers. The work’s original score was only recently rediscovered in a private estate. The Staatstheater Nürnberg will now present the full-scale orchestral version once again for the first time.
