Onkel Drosselmeyer hat für Marie ein ganz besonderes Weihnachtsgeschenk: einen prächtigen Nussknacker, den sie sogleich in ihr Herz schließt. Beim nächtlichen Kampf gegen den Mäusekönig steht sie ihm beherzt zur Seite. Zum Dank lädt sie der Nussknacker in das Reich der Zuckerfee ein. Beim traditionellen Weihnachtskinderkonzert erzählt Pius Maria Cüppers das Märchen von E.T.A. Hoffmann.
