impressionisme c Michaela Schneider

In reference to the painting style, one of the prevailing genres of music in France from approximately 1890 to 1920 was called “impressionism”. Debussy in particular was influential for his entirely unique approach to music. At the same time, non-European music and instruments were presented to the general public at the 1889 World’s Fair in Paris, influencing many composers in exciting ways.

PROGRAMME:
Claude Debussy: Trio in G major for piano, violin and violoncello
Albert Roussel: Trio, Op. 40 for flute, viola and violoncello
Gabriel Fauré: Quartet in C minor, Op. 15 for piano, violin, viola and violoncello
