Armide or When Pigs Fly!

Armide is a powerful sorceress – yet virtually nobody knows, because she lives by herself on a lonely island. Only Willibald the dwarf and Lully the fairy have been spared Armide’s spell of turning everyone and everything into pigs. This may be about to change: When Armide proceeds to enchant someone from the audience, a dangerous row breaks out on the island.

With music from various works by Christoph Willibald Gluck, this children’s opera tells an absurd tale in which the magic of theatre not only enchants the people on the stage, but the younger viewers in the audience as well.
