He may be a swank and given to exaggeration, but there’s no denying the escapades Peer Gynt gets up to on his travels.
Edvard Grieg supplied the musical backdrop to Peer’s encounters with Norwegian trolls, Arab genies and ocean monsters. And luckily there’s the Children’s Opera Choir to bring him to heel when he overdoes it with his fibbing.
