Homo sapiens has existed for 300,000 years – and you have to admit we've made a huge mess of things. Strangely enough, despite of knowing this, we’re not doing anything about it. In his new play, Philipp Löhle tells the story of the failure of humanity through the eyes of Svantje, a nuclear technician who still believes in the power of intelligence, even in the face of catastrophe. And through the eyes of 42, who is the only representative of a dumbed-down humanity smart enough to extricate a peanut from a carafe. And John, who, needful of solidarity, finds himself in the cooking pot of alleged cannibals. They are all looking for a solution to their predicament, which is why they recount anecdotes about each other, heartbreaking, tragicomic stories that nestle one inside the other, like Matryoshka dolls. The latest text from our in-house author will be premiered by Artistic Director Jens-Daniel Herzog, who is making his debut as a theatre director at the Drama Nürnberg.
