Niha­ri­ka Sena­pa­ti

Niharika Senapati is a versatile Australian artist whose practice spans the roles of dancer, performer, sound designer, and teacher. Based in Belgium, she is particularly recognized for her deep involvement in the contemporary dance scene. Senapati's extensive performance career includes a long-standing collaboration with the renowned Australian company Chunky Move (2012–2018) under Anouk van Dijk, and since 2022, she has been a member of the Opera Ballet Vlaanderen.

Beyond her work on stage, she is a Senior Countertechnique teacher, sharing this specialized movement language globally. As a sound designer, Senapati creates evocative soundscapes that complement her choreographic and performative explorations. In the production Overcast she is responsible for the sound design, further establishing her reputation as a multidisciplinary collaborator who bridges the gap between movement and sound. Her previous sound credits include other works with Kirsten Wicklund, "Hush, hush" and "My instinct is that this is nearly the end", and with numerous Australian artists including her own choreographic work.
