Kirs­ten Wick­lund

Born in British Columbia, Canada, Kirsten Wicklund is a distinguished dancer and choreographer. She received her professional training at the Goh Ballet Academy and furthered her studies at prestigious institutions such as the American Ballet Theatre and the Royal Winnipeg Ballet. Kirsten was a prominent member of Ballet BC in Vancouver for eight seasons, where she performed works by globally renowned choreographers. In 2021, she joined the Opera Ballet Flanders (Opera Ballet Vlaanderen) in Belgium as a demi-soloist.

As a choreographer, Wicklund has gained international recognition for her distinct movement language. She has created original works for Ballet BC, Opera Ballet Flanders, and various independent festivals. Her artistic style often explores the intersection of classical foundations and contemporary expression, making her a compelling voice in the modern dance landscape. In 2024, Kirsten Wicklund was appointed Artistic Director of Ballet Edmonton (Canada), a contemporary ballet company with a strong focus on new creations and innovative approaches to dance and live performance.
