EDUCATIONAL THEATRE TOURS
In conjunction with an introductory visit, our theatre educators take school classes on a guided tour through the Staatstheater for 2 euros per student. The students get insight into the production of the respective performance and learn about professions in the theatre.

For select productions, we offer groups and school classes various introductory and follow-up formats in conjunction with an intro visit.
PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT
We organise professional development opportunities for interested educators about our Children’s Opera, the topic of “Singing with Children,” and other theatre education content.
NÜRNBERGER KULTURRUCKSACK
Equipped with creative ideas and new formats, we are starting the 18th Nuremberg “KulturRucksack”! With the Kinder-Kultur subscription from the Theater Mummpitz, approximately 80 school classes from 20 primary and special needs schools in Nuremberg visit four established cultural institutions and four corresponding educational workshops to bring what they have seen and experienced to life through their own creative activities.
With the Gostner Hoftheater’s “KulturRucksack,” about 40 classes from years 5 to 8 have the opportunity to attend exciting cultural events. We look forward to seeing all the children and youths at the Staatstheater to attend a Children’s or Youth Concert.
TONANGEBER*INNEN
for primary school classes
What do sheet metal, animal hide, wood, gut and steel have in common? Instruments are made from all these materials. Children in school years 1 through 4 discover how sound is produced, how various instruments are played and what makes them special during a visit from the Tonangeberinnen—a group of musicians from the Staatsphilhamonie Nürnberg. Together, they explore the harp, percussion, strings, woodwinds and—new this season—brass instruments. In the “Singing Tonangeberinnen” sessions, we compare singing (one’s own voice) with a specific orchestral instrument. The programme serves as excellent preparation for attending a Children’s Opera or Concert.
STAATSPHILHARMONIE COMES TO VISIT
Preschool and up
A member of the Staatsphilharmonie visits the kindergarten or school. They bring their own instrument, which is presented with a lot of music and exciting stories. The children and youths get to have fun discovering the world of the orchestra and prepare for their introductory visit.
SIT-IN-PROBEN
Year 9 and up
To prepare for attending a Staatsphilharmonie concert at the Meistersingerhalle, students can visit an orchestral rehearsal at the Staatstheater and witness the professionals at work. School classes and choirs visit the Staatstheater Opera Choir during a rehearsal in the choral hall before seeing the singers again on stage during an opera performance.
BALLETT: INTRODUCTIONS, WORKSHOPS, INTERVENTIONS
For interested individuals of all ages and school types, there are introductions to the performances and workshops, as well as interventions by company members at the schools. These offerings are designed in direct collaboration with teachers, tailored to the specific needs and capabilities of each class.
