This tour takes you high up to the roof of the opera house with lots of anecdotes about the building history of the opera house! The tour is not barrier-free and sturdy shoes are required.

Over 30 specialists spread over a 60,000-square-foot area devoted to metalwork, joinery and painting labour to create stage sets for the State Theatre. The tour will familiarise you with the different trades associated with the theatre and the process of conjuring true “stage magic” from wood, metal, paint and much more besides.

In conjunction with a visit to a performance, our theatre educators will take you on a tour of the Staatstheater for 2 euros per pupil. You will gain an insight into the production processes of the respective production and learn about professions related to the theatre.
