School children, students, persons working as Federal Volunteers, severely disabled persons and Nürnberg-Pass holders are eligible for reduced-cost admission to events at the Staatstheater. We regret that reductions do not cover premieres, guest appearances and special events.
The reduction authorisation must be presented at the entrance without being asked.
A range of offers are available for children, teenagers and persons aged under 27.
Children aged 14 or under are entitled to half-price tickets. School children, trainees, students and persons aged 15 to 27 working as Federal Volunteers receive a 25% discount on tickets bought in advance and a 40% discount on tickets bought at the evening box office.
With the exception of designated family and children's performances, events at the Staatstheater Nürnberg are generally not suitable for children under the age of three. It is therefore unfortunately not possible to take babies and infants under the age of three into the auditorium.
Extra reductions for school children (“Schulplatzmiete”)
Pupils involved in the Schulplatzmiete system can attend five performances in the Staatstheater at €9.50 per ticket. Every Nuremberg school has a teacher in charge of tickets and performances attended.
U27 TICKET FOR YOUNGER AUDIENCES
If you are under 27 years of age, you can buy tickets at a discounted price of €11 via our online shop – as much as one week (or less) prior to the performance! Regardless of any concession ID you may have, the U27 Ticket is for any person aged 26 or under. Oh, and the ticket includes a single fare for a journey on the VGN network.

Tickets can be reserved in the last seven days before the relevant performance, and only via the online shop of the Staatstheater – in all price groups. In the online shop simply select your desired seat and click on “U27-Ticket”.
What's on
Holders of severely disabled passes with or without accompanying assistant receive a 25% discount on advance tickets or a 40% discount at the evening box office. An assistant accompanying a severely disabled person (Category B disability card holder) is also entitled to free admission.

You can also buy your gift vouchers made out to the desired amount at the box offices of the Opernhaus and the Schauspielhaus. Our ticket staff are happy to advise you. Vouchers can be redeemed for performances in any genre (opera, drama, ballet, concerts) and make an excellent gift!
Further advice: please note the voucher expiry date when purchasing. Vouchers are valid for three years, dating from time of purchase or issue.

Redeem vouchers
Select the evening when you wish to attend a performance: opera, play, ballet or concert; alone, as a couple or part of a group: the choice is yours.
Choose from over 50 different productions covering more than 650 events mounted in the Opernhaus, Schauspielhaus and Meistersingerhalle.
Our vouchers are available in packs of ten, discounted by 20% and with face values of €10, €15, €20, €25, €30, €40 or €50. The virtual vouchers are deposited in your customer account and can be redeemed over the course of a season, with a maximum of four vouchers per performance. Vouchers cannot be used when attending special events, guest performances or premieres. Depending on the seats and date selected, there may be a surcharge to pay or a partial reimbursement - but your 20% discount remains unaffected.

How it works
- As soon as you have purchased tickets for two different Staatstheater at full price, you will receive discounts: If you buy tickets for the third and fourth performance, you will initially receive a 10% discount and from the fifth performance onwards, you will receive a 20% discount on up to two tickets per performance at the Staatstheater.*
- The Card can be used whether buying tickets online, by phone or at the Staatstheater box office.
- The offer expires at the end of each season, but the Cards retain their validity unless you cancel them. Discounts continue automatically in the new season once you have attended three performances at the full price.
- Cards are not transferable.
*The Card does not cover premieres, guest appearances and special events. Please note that the discount cannot be combined with other offers/reductions and visits covered by a season ticket do not count as a full-price admission.
Holders of the Nürnberg-Pass receive a 50% discount on normal advance-ticket purchases.
The Staatstheater is a partner of the KulturTicket system operated by Bürgerstiftung Nürnberg, providing free tickets to cultural events for all Nuremberg residents with low incomes (Nürnberg-Pass holders are 16 or over).

Holders of the Bayerische Ehrenamtskarte receive a 25% discount in advance ticket sales (except for premieres and special events). The discounted tickets can be purchased online in the webshop or at the day box office. The Bayerische Ehrenamtskarte must be shown at the entrance together with the ticket. Spontaneous buyers with the Ehrenamtskarte even receive a 40% discount on the ticket price at the evening box office.
