Die erste Fassung dieser Arbeit wurde von Omanut in Auftrag gegeben.

In his new play, Boris Nikitin does genealogical research and looks at the history of his grandmother. After she dies at the age of 87, the director and author learns that she originally came from a Jewish family. In 1944/45, she had to hide for months in a barn in eastern Slovakia, while most of her family lost their lives in the death camps. She keeps all this to herself, starts a family, becomes the first professor of chemistry in the young socialist Czechoslovakia. She even hides the secret from her daughters. Nikitin sets out to find her silence. The family history expands to include a new, Jewish chapter; and with it the biography and identity of Boris Nikitin himself.

In his solo play "An Attempt at Dying", which was celebrated by international critics, the author and director, who was recently awarded the Swiss Theatre Prize, dealt with the act of coming out, of breaking the silence. Now he enters the stage again and focuses his gaze on the silence in front of it.
